Team Graves

Meet Team Graves.
I just can't believe how lucky I was to marry into this sweet family. Really, they are just unbelievable. Most of this crew has been here for 2 weeks. (The whole gang lives in FL.) Now, I never intended for them to work themselves to the bone. I was going to be happy if Chesson was happy. But, these are people who just go above and beyond. If they saw something that needed to be done - someone would just do it. Here is a list a few of the things they did while they were here:
  • took care of Chesson (who wakes up at 6am)
  • gave Anna Corbin a bottle in the middle of the night, so I could get a few solid hours of sleep
  • took all the wallpaper down in my kitchen (this was a nightmare of a job)
  • painted my dining room -- then hung pictures
  • painted my living room -- again, hung pictures
  • fixed the window in the den that had a big hole in it (a bit of an incident with a golf ball)
  • cooked
  • cleaned
  • did laundry
  • And, really, that's just the beginning of the list... Meet Betty Ann Graves. This sweet Gigi woke up with Chesson at 6:00 every morning (for two solid weeks), and then played with him until he went to bed each night. They went to the park, the kids museum, and gymnastics. They played in the pool, pushed the lawn mower, rode his bike, and went for walks. At the end of each day, Chesson had the most fun bath time he's every had. (I'm tired just thinking about all she did). She is basically the energizer bunny, and I am quite sure we wouldn't have survived without her. After playing with Chesson all day - Betty Ann peeled wallpaper for hours each night. Sarah jumped in to help out. It was a terrible job. I still can't believe the wallpaper is down!! A-mazing!

This is the wonderful woman who gave Anna Corbin a 2am bottle. She also rocked her for hours so I could sleep during the night. Unbelievable!! After being up all night with Anna Corbin, Sarah and Lawton took on the task of repainting our dining room. (We had already taking down wallpaper, and the bottom half was red.) They scraped off the glue left from the wallpaper, and then they painted. What?!! -- C'mon, I'm the luckiest girl in the word, right? Holt came into town for a few days, and he joined in the work party. He puttied holes and painted. And of course, played with Chesson and snuggled with Anna Corbin.

The North Carolina Graves LOVE the Florida Graves!! We miss you already!!

A look into her future?

As I look at Anna Corbin, I just keep thinking that she looks like my mom. Check out my mom's baby picture (she's one day old) compared with Anna Corbin's pic (at one day old)...I think there are more than a few similarities. I am hoping that she has lot of my mama's genes. Then, maybe, she'll have a fighting chance of looking this gorgeous when she grows up.

Our first 2 weeks with 2 kids under 2

Chesson isn't all that interested in his little sister. Every now and then he'll point to her and say 'baby.' But, that's about all the attention he gives her. He is however obsessed with Kobe! Chesson thinks they are best friends. Kobe is so sweet to tolerate Chesson following him around all day.
Aunt Sarah gave Chesson a much needed haircut. Chesson kept signing 'all done.' He really doesn't like to get his hair cut. Thankfully, Aunt Sarah has the patience of a saint.
Here's sweet Anna Corbin at one week. She's weighing in at about 6lbs 10 oz. We're working hard to get her back up to her birth weight.
We have been so blessed to have our family helping us out. My parents took care of Chesson when Anna Corbin was born. He stayed at their house for four nights and loved every minute of it. Last week Corbin's family arrived. Betty Ann is here, along with Lawton, Sarah, and their dog, Kobe (possibly the greatest and most well trained dog ever). It may sound like full house, but it doesn't feel like it. It feels like heaven. Corbin and I are well rested, well fed, and the house is clean. Everyone is pitching in, and I'm loving it! I'm sure I'll be a basket case when they all leave. I can't imagine what I will do without them.

She's Here!

Anna Corbin decided to join us 20 days before her due date. We couldn't be happier! She is perfect in every way!
7lbs and 20.5 inches long The reason we have a red head!! I LOVE it!! Ready to head home from the hospital. Her clothes are too big...we just never could have predicted that. Check out those awesome socks!!
Chesson meeting his little sister for the first time. He kept bringing his toys over to share with her. :o) Pure cuteness!!

Just Like Daddy

My boys really are two peas in a pod. Who knew mowing the lawn could be so much fun? Two days later these two had matching cases of poison ivy. I'm not allergic to the stuff, so I was hoping Chesson wasn't either. But, of course, he's just like his daddy!!
