Look at Me...I'm 3

We celebrated Chesson's birthday on Sunday with trucks, trucks, and more trucks...
Gra Gra and Papa were there to spoil Chesson with "the big yellow trucks" as Chesson calls them!!
Crafty Aunt Becca made the birthday banner (she's awesome...we love her).
Yes, those are construction cone cups. So. much. fun.
The bucket of bubbles was the 2nd biggest hit of the evening (#1 hit to follow). Chesson wanted to wear them and Anna Corbin wanted to eat them.
Biggest hit. Dirt cake served in a dump truck. De-lish!!
"Can I lick the candle now?"
"No mama, don't take it."
Waiting for his dirt cake to return.
Still waiting.
Pure happiness!!

The Beach

Well, I have to admit, the kids and I have been spoiled rotten this summer. We have lived at the beach with my sweet Mama with summer. Next Sunday when we head home, we'll have spent nearly 5 weeks here. These past few weeks have been my favorite because we've been here 3 weeks straight. It has been perfect! Anyone who knows my mom is well aware that she is A-MAZING. She is the reason we are having so much fun. Clearly, I cannot go to the pool or the ocean with a 1 year old and 3 year old. One of us would definitely drown. So, thankfully Gra-Gra (pronounced Gray-gray) as the kids call her, has helped to even the playing field.
Every day is just fun, fun, fun. In the morning, Chesson and Gra-Gra play a game. She has been teaching him how to play board games....it's precious. Then, we head to the ocean or the pool. We shower and change there, come home, have lunch, and then it's nap time. Gra-Gra has been so sweet to alternate staying home for naps. Can you imagine, I get to go do whatever I want....alone for 2+ hours every other day!!
After naps, we often head over to the aquarium. Mama bought us a season pass, and we have certainly used it! Chesson has almost memorized where everything is. He loves the otters, snakes, stingrays, sharks, and octopus the best. Anna Corbin is getting pretty into it as well.
By the end of the night, they are worn out and ready to sleep! -- Then, we wake up and repeat. Seriously, it's awesome! ------- Corbin has been a great sport and hasn't complained once about us not being home. He's been traveling a little each week, and then he's been with us every weekend. So, we aren't leaving him out completely. Although, this week he did have to do his own laundry. I think his life is pretty good if he needed instructions on how to use the washing machine:o) ------------ This has definitely been the best.summer.ever!!!!

Much Needed

We had a WONDERFUL weekend with WONDERFUL friends. This year there were six adults and 7 children (all under 3)....what fun! The heat was nearly unbearable, but once we were able to get our feet in the ocean, it was perfect. The kiddos were happy as clams at the beach (don't worry, we didn't subject the littlest one to the heat), and so were the parents.
Some people might feel exhausted after a weekend like this, but I just love it. I need it. So, I'm thankful that we have friends that aren't afraid of chaos. We had fun playing while the kids were awake, and laughed until we cried once the kids were asleep.
