Great-Grandparents

After competing in a multi-day swim meet in Winston-Salem, Corbin's grandparents came to our house.  That's right, Great-Grandaddy is in his 80's and he's a competitive swimmer!!  (This seriously makes me feel like a lazy bum.)   He and Great-Grandmama drove from Jacksonville (Florida) to Winston for the swim meet, and then came to spend the night with us.  Yep, they are pretty amazing!

Chesson was so excited to show off his trains and trucks.

Anna Corbin and her great-grandmama bonded over bubbles!

Precious, precious moments!

My Mother

Chesson came home from preschool with a card entitled, My Mother. Chesson filled in the blanks to describe me. My internal reactions are in parenthesis.  :o)

My mother has brownish-purple eyes and brownish-blackish hair.  (close, very close)

My mother is prettiest when she plays with me.  (i like this answer)

My mother is the funniest when she makes jokes.  (oh, i love this answer....see corbin, i AM funny!)

My mother cooks granola bars especially for me.  (yep, that pretty much sums it up..don't judge)

My mother likes my help when she cooks.  (we are quite the chefs cooking our granola bars:o))

Family Picture 2012

Well, this was more challenging than I expected.  Don't get me wrong, I thought it would be tricky, but I really underestimated the kids determination to look anywhere other than the camera.  --  All my mama wanted was a family picture.  I naively thought I could capture it with my camera on a tripod.  I mean it will take 9 pictures in a row.  Surely we could get ONE picture where BOTH children are looking somewhat happy.
HA!!

AC:  Fine.  I'll look at the camera.  But you can't make me smile.

5 out of 8 smiling and looking....

Chesson:  Seriously, are we still taking pictures.
AC:  Why are we all sitting, and what are y'all looking at?

Now no one is trying

one hour later.....
snack break - these two deserved it, they looked perfect in EVERY picture!!!
I imagine getting a 2 year old and a 3 year old to smile, sit still, and look at a camera is much like wrestling wet pigs.  Hysterical....and impossible.

Maybe next year:o)

AgFest!!!

Becca and Brian came with us to AgFest, and I had two happy, happy kiddos!  All you really need to know is there is a tractor parade.  Yep, pure happiness.

AC loves trucks and tractors too  - I imagine she has been a bit influenced by her brother:o)

these kids have been friends since they were babies - ready for rides!

Superhero Lunch

"The apple doesn't fall far from the tree" is the best way to describe Chesson and Corbin.  These two just speak the same language.

A little superhero in training.

Their eyes are on their daddy.  He's demonstrating the superhero stance.

Here we go!
We always have a great time when Da-da comes home for lunch!!

Free Tip #48

It may not be a good idea to keep the wrapping paper under your 3 year olds bed.  He might find it when he is avoiding taking his nap.

Also, Gigi and Gra-Gra....your mother's day gifts will not be wrapped this year.

Oh Two-dooles!

We had a Mickey Mouse Clubhouse themed birthday.  Starring Minnie Mouse of course.  Our girl loves all things Minnie!

Anna Corbin, Anna Co, Co, Co Co, AC, she is a girl with many names.  Every day she picks a different one, and she will tell me in a heartbeat if I am calling her by a name she doesn't prefer.  What a hoot!

Digging into the icing first

Yummy!

Gra-Gra and Papa hosted the perfect party!
kisses for the newest baby

pure excitement seeing her new minnie mouse

Happy 2nd Birthday Sweet Girl!!!
