Camping Adventures

Let me say, I am not a camper.  Nope.  I didn't grow up camping, and I don't feel much need to do it now.  But, I have to admit seeing all the fun the kids (and adults) were having last night may lead me to reconsider my strong stance on NOT camping:o)  You know, when I'm not pregnant and all.

Corbin loves to camp.  I mean, loves it.  Chesson seems to feel the same way -- two peas in a pod these two.
all hands on deck building  the fire
Yesterday, the dads found a campsite not far from our house and the moms and kids met them out there with a picnic supper.  We ate, built a fire, roasted marshmallows, and just plain had fun.

this man prides himself in being an expert marshmallow roaster (check out anna corbin's face back there)

success!

super-dads!!!

It was a boys camping night, so the gals headed home after we ate s'mores (we weren't going to miss out on the chocolate).  Evidently, Corbin and Jeff had the boys asleep by 9.  What?!  Clearly they are experts!

4 days until annie moves to the other side of the country....not that we're counting or sad or anything.....please annie, stay!

Mini Overlook Reunion

Last weekend it turned some of our out of town friends were in our area for graduations.  Four of  Corbin's college roommates + their families were able to come over.  What a treat for us!  Saturday morning at 7:30 this crew rolled in for a early morning play date.  The kids were happy to eat donuts as big as their faces and play outside while the adults were happy to drink coffee and catch up (we were pretty happy to eat those donuts too).

In order by age: Chesson, Lillie, Anna Corbin, Mary Hardin, Gus, Caroline

Third Trimester!

We finally started getting down some of the baby boxes to inventory what we have.  We have the crib in the nursery --- although, it's not assembled --- details, details.  This time around I just don't feel much pressure to "have it all together."

Chesson and Anna Corbin are holding strong with their name choices, Baby Bouncy Boy and Elijah.  Corbin and I are still talking about what to name this little fella.  I'm sure it will come to us...hopefully sooner than later:o)

Cutting the Curls

When Anna Corbin's hair was wet, it reached all the way down her back.  We were in a daily battle of curls and tangles.  With the pool days and beach days in our future, it seemed wise (sad, but wise) to get our girl a haircut.  This is not the first time she's had a hair cut, but until now it's just been a little trim.

Before :)
I took her to my friend Amy, who cuts my hair.  Anna Corbin loved the special treatment.

During - clearly loving it!

Then, Amy cut off 6 inches of hair.  It turns out that for every 2 inches that AC's hair grows it only shows about 1/2 in of length because the curls are so tight.  So, 6 inches isn't as drastic as it sounds!

after
New, short, much more manageable hair!!!  Hooray!

Bitty Baby's Birthday Present

Anna Corbin and Bitty Baby received matching nightgowns for Anna Corbin's birthday.  I think they were a hit!
They are almost too pretty to be nightgowns.
Thanks Gra-Gra and Papa!!

Roommates

Anna Corbin moved into Chesson's room this weekend.  They each picked out new comforters and wall decals to make their Big Kid room special.

I think it was a bigger transition for me than it was for them.  You know, I just don't love change.  But four nights down and I have to say they are doing very well.

Now I guess it's time to start putting the nursery together.
